HOLIDAY HOME scarlino

The medieval town of Scarlino (elevation 229 m) is located on the hilly slopes of Monte D'Alma (559 m) and offers a heavenly view over the Gulf of Follonica. The panorama extends from the East over Massa Maritima, Prata, Gavoranno, Gulf of Follonica, Piombino, and over the Tyrrhenian Sea to the islands of Elba and Montecristo.
The town is known for its traditional "Carriere" (medieval procession and tournament), its tasty Maroni, and delicious cuisine. Restaurants such as "Balbo" were mentioned as flagships of Toscana cuisine, and their recipes were printed in cookbooks. The distance to the seashore (at the Puntone di Scarlino) is 6 km (4 miles). Our villa is located in the very middle of the historic town, on a small alley. The building was fully remodeled in 1993, with the original historic and artistic spirit of the construction being preserved in the process. The doors and windows are made out of chestnut wood, and traditional Cotto flooring was installed. The stylish arrangement includes antique furniture to create the perfect harmony with the typical Toscana environment.

The villa consists of two separate dwellings:
1. Castore - the first (ground) floor, a 95 square meter (1050 sq. ft.)
3-bedroom condo with an elegant living room with a fireplace and
kitchenette, a large bathroom (hot tub, shower, bidet and toilet), a small
bathroom (shower, bidet and toilet), and a terrace with a beautiful view of
the sea and the Elba Island.
2. Polluce - the second floor is a 45 square meter (500 sq. ft.) apartment
with a fireplace, kitchenette, bathroom (hot tub, shower, bidet and toilet),
a double bed and a single bed. A staircase leads to the patio, which invites
to a cozy get-together evening.
Parking is available about 50 meters from the building.

Follonica and Scarlino are located on the Tyrrhenian seashore in the very
heart of the Etruscan culture, and offer access to more than 10 kilometers
of sand beaches. The beach offers a nice view over the Elba Island and when
the visibility is good Corsica and Montecristo can be seen as well.
Follonica Bay is a paradise for yachting, surfing, diving and other kinds of
water sports.

From April to November, the mild weather and the clear and warm seawater are
inviting for swimming and sun tanning. According to the environmental
reports, the seawater in the region is one of Italy's cleanest.

The locations recommends itself as the best starting point for trips to some
of the most beautiful attractions of Italy: Punta Ala / Golf Course - 20 km
/ 12 km, San Gimignano / Voltera - 90 km, Siena - 80 km, Massa Maritima - 20
km, Firenze (Florence) - 140 km, Pisa - 100 km, Roma - 220 km, Elba Island -
